Dan Newso to create mural for the #Wall at Longbridge

We are delighted to announce that Birmingham artist Dan Newso has won the commission to create an artwork for the Wall to the right of Longbridge train station. The #Wall project was initiated by Northfield Housing Liaison Board and is also being supported by LPAP. Dan will work with our students in a series of workshops in developing his plans for the wall.  The mural will be completed by October this year and we will be documenting the development of the project on this blog.

Dan Newso is an experienced and talented graffiti artist with a degree in Fine Art. He has painted graffiti art for over 18 years and also exhibits in galleries within a streetart/outsider art context.

For some years Dan has been engaging with the community in Digbeth, working with a team of artists to transform public spaces. Dan’s recent clients include the National Trust, Birmingham City Council, BBC 1Xtra, Mountain Dew and the Body Shop. We are thrilled to be joining his list of clients and very excited that Dan’s artwork will be coming to Longbridge.
